Years of experience has taught me that a fresh pair of eyes on your work is invaluable. When you’ve looked at something you’ve written a number of times you very often can’t spot glaring errors – your eyes just skip over them! It’s not a failing on your part as a writer; it’s just how human brains work!

I've been doing bits of proof reading on and off since I taught Criminology at Essex Uni. I will flag up typos etc, incorrect word use, odd tense, grammar, punctuation, poorly constructed sentences etc. (please note, this does not include content critique/suggestions for that service click here).

Proofreaders normally charge £30-£40 per hour.

These are my rates:

* £23 per hour (if it's a larger document, book etc.)

* £14 for up to 800 words (a few poems, or a short story perhaps)

All prices include VAT.
