TOKYO LUNGS / FERAL STATE 7"
The long-awaited Tokyo Lungs / Feral State split 7" E.P.is finally out (pressing plant delays meant it was pushed back three times!!!). You can grab a copy here or here. The band is on hiatus at the moment, but we may well be back; you never know! I think this might be our best recording.
Official blurb:
After their explosive self-titled 7", and their raging 'Soul Music' LP, Tokyo Lungs are back with no less than 8 hardcore bangers on their side of this split! Holy Fuck!
On the flip, we have Leicester's Feral State, spewing out 5 songs in their trademark d-beat/hardcore style. "Feral" is spot on...this totally rips!!!
Grab one while you can!
TOKYO LUNGS
On Fumes (2021)
TOKYO LUNGS is me on guitar, bass and vocals, and Simon, from THE DOMESTICS, on drums. I write a lot of songs and THE DOMESTICS already had a backlog of them to learn, so TOKYO LUNGS was born as an outlet for some more of them. Currently a studio-only project, we put out a 9 song 7" E.P. in 2020. it went down so well with hardcore afficionados that we put out a 24 song LP called Soul Music in 2021. the On Fumes video was a taster for that album. all filmed on smartphones and then edited together.
"Can I just say “this is a killer hardcore punk record” and just stop after that? Two dudes, twenty-four songs, nineteen minutes—gruff, fast, screaming raw guitars, just a killer hardcore punk record." (MAXIMUM ROCK 'N' ROLL)
We Surveil Us (2021)
The second video to accompany the Soul Music album was for We Surveil Us. Again shot on smartphones... Covid 19 has made necessity the mother of invention, or whatever the saying is!
“The UK is now a one party dictatorship, and Covid 19 continues to keep everyone inside and away from the things we like…TOKYO LUNGS are half of THE DOMESTICS, bashing out 24 songs in just 20 minutes; there is no time for any padding or filler, it’s just straight ahead, fast punk that doesn’t hang around waiting for your approval, it demands your attention. This is how punk should sound in 2021” (SUSPECT DEVICE)
You can read a TOKYO LUNGS interview here, check out the 7" here, and buy the album on vinyl from Kibou Records (UK) or Amok Records (Germany). You can stream it on Spotify...
The album and the 7" were compiled onto cassette and released in June 2021 by two Swedish labels, Exos Lucius and Brus Tapes.
We have a split 7" with Leicester's FERAL STATE due for release over summer 2022.
