It’s been a little while since the last update, and although I’ve finished gigging for the year (both with the band and doing spoken word), I’ve still been busy!
THE DOMESTICS did some dates with our pals from Leeds/Nottingham – GEVÄL, including closing Means To An End Fest at the infamous 1 in 12 Club in Bradford. What an honour to headline that!
I also did a bunch of spoken word gigs – Poet’s Palace in Norwich, Frinton Literary Fest in Walton-on-the-Naze, and one in Ipswich supporting the legend that is ATTILA THE STOCKBROKER.
There are a bunch of videos kicking around, but I’ve not really done anything with ‘em yet, except the Poet’s Palace gig, below. The others (band and spoken word) will appear on the Kibou Records YouTube channel over the coming weeks I’m sure (so make sure you subscribe, yeah?!)

I already have a load of gigs filling the diary next year, including Peterborough, Nottingham, Trimley-St-Mary, Sudbury etc. – one is supporting the esteemed Luke Wright (again) at Sudbury Arts Centre, another is at the same venue supporting Andy Riley (writer for Spitting Image, Black Books, Big Train, Trigger Happy TV, Veep, The Armando Ianucci Show, and loads more). I’m also teaming up with author and poet, Virginia Betts for ‘An Evening With…’ at 2 Sisters Arts in Trimley-St-Mary near Felixstowe (with a little support from Dawn Vincent and AJ Deane).
I was also on BBC Three Counties Radio a couple of times recently. The most recent appearance being to perform my poem, ‘Essay Dee’ and talk a little about my Seasonal Affective Disorder. I wish there'd been time to talk more about that, but other S.A.D. sufferers have said I did a good job, so that's good enough for me, You can hear that episode here (I'm on at a couple of points in the show. At the 47 minute mark, and again for a longer section at around 2:18).
I also appeared on the Mass Movement podcast, alongside fellow punk poet and old mate, Sam Marsh (check out his ‘Wisdom of the Punk Buddha’ book), and Joey Shithead from Canadian hardcore legends, D.O.A. - you can listen to that here.
Oh, and I’m in a new book; ‘Ten Poets Volume Two’ with 7 new poems exclusive to that book – ‘Steak’, ‘Employing an Octopus’, ‘Racist Nan’, ‘Monument’, ‘Please Don’t Drop in Over Christmas’, ‘Ring’, and ‘Dog ‘n’ Duck Music’. There are a load of – well, nine! – other poets in there, and it’s full of great stuff. Highly recommended purchase! Grab one here or here.
That’s it for now. See you on the other side.
